Jack and Jill....ohhh hey Bobby!

We had our annual "Jack and Jill" tourney at Willowbend today, where members invite another couple from a different club to join them in the tourney. One of our members invited the Orr's... Bobby Orr and his wife, it was pretty cool...I'd met Mr. Orr last year after a round he played at our club.. He's a super super nice guy, and will have a chat with anyone...when your talking with him, you forget he was one of the greatest hockey players of all time... and he drives a silly nice Escalade, actually a hybrid Escalade... explain that one to me?

Read Previous Post First.................... Fierce!

HEY! HEY! HEY!

NCAA Worst Mascots?

Wow congrats UWGB! Way to go! I have to admit the school must have seen this a couple of years ago, because they took action and have since made the mascot sooo fucking fierce....Check out this blurb from this site http://www.drivl.com/posts/view/738....The Worst NCAA D-I College Mascots by Rebecca Kelley

24. University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's Phlash the Phoenix (Horizon League)

A phoenix seems like it would be a pretty sweet mascot, right? They're colorful, look bad-ass, and can spontaneously combust, only to rise from a dusty pile of their own freakin' ashes and be reborn. That's pretty awesome!

Based on the above criteria, I didn't think I'd ever in my life see a pathetic-looking phoenix...that is, until I laid eyes on UW-GB's mascot, "Phlash":

This thing looks like it's risen one too many times, but the creature's curse is that it can't be put out of its misery. It's gaunt, its eyes are sunken, it looks phlemy (Phlash the Phlemy Phoenix?), and it appears to have sprouted random feathers from its chin. Plus, aren't phoenixes supposed to be fiery in color? Last time I checked, green wasn't an inferno-y hue.

The Burrito Place

The Burrito Place opened up early this Summer, it was a dream come true for me...I had been gripping about how there were absolutely no Mexican restaurants in town since I'd been here. I mean when I'm back in Wisco, I am eating at Qdoba sometimes twice a day... 1pm and 2am. Ryan and I had even made the trip over to Martha's Vineyard to eat at Sharky's in Oak Bluffs, but I have to admit those trips may not stop.. Sharky's is the shit... But ever since The Burrito Place has opened, I think I've averaged about 5 burritos a week... Its on the way home from work, and I know the guys that opened it, from playing on the Steve's Pizza basketball team...So I can just buzz by there on the way home and grab a huge burrito for 8 bucks and bring it home.. Now they are doing breakfast burrito and are open at 6am... they are just as amazing...but not sure how healthy to start the day with...oh well! It has definitely become my favorite place for some quick food. Favorite Burrito: Rocky Balboa with pulled pork, yellow rice, brown beans, cooked mushrooms, hot salsa, sour cream, Guac... I'm set!

Someone must have hacked into my account and stopped me from posting...bc I'm becoming so popular across the world! Richard Jefferson gets cold feet, leaves bride at altar
By J.E. Skeets

Warning: This has virtually nothing to do with the NBA — it's off-the-court gossip. I only post it because I have to attend a friend's wedding this Friday, and, well, I sort of hope there's Black Amex credit card waiting for me when I stroll into the church. Here's a toaster! Now where's that plastic?
Richard Jefferson(notes), who was traded in June from the Bucks to the Spurs, got cold feet, dumped his stunning fiancĂ©e — onetime Nets dancer Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols — and pulled the proverbial plug on his $2 million Manhattan wedding on Saturday.
According to the New York Post, Jefferson's decision was so last-minute that some his guests still showed up.
"He called about two hours before the wedding. It was nuts," said one Jefferson pal.
He never showed up at the hotel, but "all his boys were there," the friend said. "He gave his best friend the Black Amex [credit card] for the night."
Jefferson's guests made good use of the credit card to party on their pal's dime.
I bet they did.
According to HoopsHype, Jefferson is set to make $14.2 million this season, and $15 million in 2011. I've done the math, and, yes, he could afford to throw a solid little wedding (or non-wedding party) every damn weekend. That's real love.
